This Apple AirPods “ad” might be more accurate than you think

Apple is pretty renown for their product ads. They strike a balance between telling you enough and showing you the rest. What’s more, while their ads often exaggerate the capabilities of their devices (and the situations you might find yourself using these devices) most of the message is grounded by some form of truth.

This ad, for the latest AirPods however, is not an Apple ad. Though, it is probably more accurate than most people are willing to admit.

The video comes courtesy of late night talk show Conan — hosted by the (often) hilarious Conan O’Brien — and it does seem to depict a big concern many have highlighted regarding Apple’s brand new AirPods.

AirPods, in case you’ve been living under a rock and are unfamiliar with the name, are Apple’s “truly wireless” solution to the earphones. The announcement of the device was following the reveal of the iPhone 7 which — as many predicted — came without the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

It’s packed with Apple’s sophisticated W1 chip and can detect when both AirPods are in your ear before it starts playing music.

Still, despite Conan’s ad parody, it is worth noting that Tim Cook says the AirPods will stay in your ears even when you dance and that he’s never had one fall out “personally”. Then again, he also said that the iPad Pro could replace a notebook or your desktop. I guess only time will tell.
