After doing a fine job with the HTC 10, the Taiwanese smartphone maker is now working on a new mid-range smartphone. This would be the HTC Desire 10 and it comes in two flavours – the Desire 10 Pro and the Desire 10 Lifestyle.
In the past few days, HTC had released a couple of teasers of the new Desire 10. The videos show a glimpse of its design and it gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. In the second video, it showed what appears to be the camera with the text “150”. What could this 150 be? Could it be a 150-degree wide angle lens? If that’s true for the front shooter, that would be perfect for group selfies.
Evan Blass had earlier dropped a couple of leaks of the HTC Desire 10 Pro here and here. From what he gathered, the Desire 10 Lifestyle would be the lower spec of the two and it will come with a 5.5″ HD 720p display. Under the hood, it is likely to run on a quad-core Snapdragon processor with a choice of either 2GB RAM + 16GB storage or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage.
For optics, the Desire 10 Lifestyle is said to be having a 13MP main camera with a single LED flash while the front gets a modest 5MP shooter. Like the new HTC 10, it will feature its Boomsound Hi-Fi speakers that uses both earpiece and loudspeaker. So far there are no details yet for the higher Desire 10 Pro.
The mid-range segment is getting more competitive especially under the RM2,000 price bracket. You have phones like the OnePlus 3 and Xiaomi Mi 5 offering flagship specs at mid-range prices. All shall be revealed next Tuesday and you can catch the launch on their website. In the meantime, check out the press renders from @evleaks below.
