The ASUS ZenWatch 3 is finally official. Like most new Android Wear devices, it gets a round face for a contemporary look. The new ZenWatch runs on Android Wear 2.0 and it’s also the first Android Wear with 3 physical buttons at the side.
Focusing on premium design, the ZenWatch 3 case is made of 316L stainless steel with a high precision diamond cut bezel. The front screen is a 1.39″ AMOLED display that pushes a 400×400 resolution. That gives it a rather high 287 ppi (pixels per inch) which is quite similar to the Huawei Watch.
Having a 3 button design makes it more intuitive to navigate and you can customise them for shortcut access to your favourite app. Under the hood, it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and it also gets 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. Connectivity wise, it uses Bluetooth 4.1 as well as WiFi.
The ZenWatch 3 comes in a variety of leather band styles and the case comes in gunmetal, silver and rose gold colour options. To make it yours, the ZenWatch 3 comes with 3 different themes and over 50 designer watch faces. You can customise your own watch face with the Face Designer app.
For fitness, the ZenWatch 3 has a ZenFit physical activity smartphone app that motivates you to move more. While activity trackers aren’t exactly new, the ZenWatch 3 claims to be the industry’s leading tracker with up to 95% accuracy. It also gets IP67 rated dust and water resistant.
To keep you going with minimal downtime, charging the 340mAh battery is rather quick and you can get 60% charge in 15 minutes with its HyperCharge feature.
For every ZenWatch 3, you’ll get a nifty box that comes with a magnetic charger, a watch stand and a battery pack to keep your watch juiced up while on the go. To learn more, you can check out the ASUS ZenWatch 3 product page.
