Xiaomi is set to unveil something massive, two somethings in fact, during their upcoming launch event next week. We, along with many others, have speculated that the Chinese company will be pulling the sheets off their new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone but specifications for this particular device has been scarce.
Until now.
An image that has been purported to be the back of the Redmi Note 4’s retail box reveals some key specifications of the rumoured upcoming device. On the box, it says that the smartphone will have a 5.5-inch display on the front with a MediaTek Helio X20 processor inside mated to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, the Redmi Note 4 is also supposed to sport a 13MP primary shooter and a 5MP selfie snapper alongside a large 4,100 mAh battery to keep things running.
But wait, there’s more. A post on Weibo has recently surfaced with whispers of a Redmi Pro smartphone from Xiaomi. Not Redmi Note 4 Pro or Redmi 4 Pro, simply Redmi Pro. Whether this is a Pro variant of the Redmi Note 4 or a brand new device that is set to redefine the series remains to be seen.
Gizmochina does seem pretty confident that the device will be a beast, though, as they’ve spotted a device with the same name on GeekBench last week. That device was powered by a MediaTek Helio X25 processor with 4GB of RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Besides the smartphone(s), Xiaomi has also been rumoured to reveal a new laptop on the 27th of July. While we don’t exactly know what it is, rumours have indicated that the notebook would be affordable and potentially feature an Intel Atom processor. That means we could potentially see three brand new devices from Xiaomi next week.
This is exciting stuff coming from the Mobile Internet company but we do encourage you to take all of this information with a grain of salt as these are still rumours at this point. Of course, all will be revealed on the 27th of July so stay tuned!
