ASUS ZenFone 3 Malaysian launch is happening on 6 August

This is it. The ASUS Malaysia will be launching their ZenFone 3 series on 6 August 2016. Similar to the ZenFone 2 last year, ASUS Malaysia will be organising a Zenvolution event which will be open to selected members of the public.

This year’s ASUS Zenvolution event is taking place at KL Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur. If you want to be part of the launch, you can register yourself for an exclusive invite. Seats are limited and registration will close on 31st July 2016.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 series was launched during Computex 2016. The main trio consists of a ZenFone 3 base model accompanied by a premium ZenFone 3 Deluxe and a larger ZenFone 3 Ultra. Compared to its predecessor, the new ZenFone 3 has gone upmarket with a starting price of about RM1,000. Nevertheless, you are still getting a lot of phone for your money.

The cream of the crop is the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe. It gets a premium all metal build and comes with 6GB of RAM plus storage options up to a whopping 256GB on-board. Powering the device is the top of the line Snapdragon 820 and there’s also a newer Snapdragon 821 variant that was announced recently. It gets a 5.7″ Full HD AMOLED display and imaging is handled by its 23MP f/2.0 camera with OIS along with its 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter.

Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery which can be charged quickly up to 60% in 39 minutes with its 9V 2A quick charger. Replacing the rear mounted volume rocker button is a fingerprint scanner which unlocks instantly at a touch.

For emerging markets where affordable phones are crucial, ASUS had also announced two more ZenFone 3 variants over at Vietnam. They are the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max which are both positioned below its current base ZenFone 3. For Malaysia, we are likely to see just the initial ZenFone 3 trio during the upcoming Zenvolution event.
