The Nexus 5X has finally arrived in Malaysia

UPDATE: The Nexus 5X is now available in Malaysia.

Want to experience pure Android for less? The overdue Nexus 5X is officially coming to Malaysia. This comes after almost 7 months since the Nexus 6P was launched in the country.

According to Amanz, the Nexus 5X will be priced at RM1,199 for the highest 32GB storage option. That’s less than half the price of its bigger Nexus 6P (RRP: RM2,698). When it was launched, the 16GB version was going for US$379 (about RM1,520) while the 32GB version is priced at US$429 (about RM1,720). The affordable Nexus device will be distributed through Brightstar’s network of dealers beginning next month.

To recap, the Nexus 5X is a compact Nexus device featuring a 5.2″ Full HD display. Powering it is a decent Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor that’s mated to 2GB of RAM. For imaging, it gets a 12.3MP f/2.0 camera (same as the Nexus 6P) that’s further assisted with Laser AutoFocus. Meanwhile the front sports a 5MP f/2.0 shooter. Also comes as standard is a fingerprint scanner that’s mounted at the back and it also supports Cat 6 4G LTE, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 as well as NFC. Powering the device is a 2,700mAh battery which charges quickly via USB Type-C.

So RM1,199 for a Nexus device. It looks like a decent offering considering it has 32GB of storage and it will be among the first in line to receive future Android updates. Would you consider it?

UPDATE: SuperBuy is selling the Nexus 5X with official LG Warranty.
