HP‘s Spectre 13 is one of the most eye-catching laptops in the world right now. The contrasting colour scheme, the interesting hinge and sheer thinness of it all is absolutely mesmerising. If you’ve been eyeing this laptop since it was revealed earlier this year, now you have a chance to buy one right here in Malaysia for RM5,999.
Today, HP unveiled a whole host of new devices that will be hitting Malaysian markets soon. The star of which, I think, is the world’s thinnest laptop, the HP Spectre 13. Coming in at a wafer thin 10.4mm, the Spectre 13 is a thing of beauty from the gold accents to the new premium HP logo emblazoned on the top of the laptop.
It’s supposed to be HP’s attempt at out-designing Apple. The closest thing to a MacBook running Windows if you will. Malaysia will be getting two variants of the Spectre 13, one with an Intel Core i7-6500U processor and another with an Intel Core i5-6200U chip.
Both variants will come with 8GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM, a 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and an edge-to-edge 13.3 inch Full HD IPS UWVA BrightView WLED backlit panel.
The Spectre 13 will also feature three USB Type C ports — two 3.1 Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt and one Gen 1 port. Its also got a headphone/microphone jack plus quad speakers on-board tuned by Bang and Olufsen with HP’s Audio Boost technology.
If you’re interested, the HP Spectre 13 will go on sale in July for RM5,999 for the Core i5 model and RM6,900 for the Core i7 model.
The ultra thin Spectre 13 not your kind of laptop? HP also officially launched the more affordable Envy 15 laptop. The Envy 15 only comes in one spec and it’s kitted out with an Intel Core i5-6200U 8GB of DDR4-2133 SDRAM and a 1TB 5,400 rpm SATA drive for storage.
HP’s Envy 15 also sports a 15.6-inch Full HD screen on the front for all your display needs. For ports, the Envy 15 gets one USB Type C port (3.1 Gen 1), three USB Type A ports (3.1 Gen 1) and an HDMI port. It’s also got dual Bang and Olufsen speakers (with HP Audio Boost) and a microphone/headphone jack.
Want to pick one up? The Envy 15 is priced at RM3,699 and is available for purchase now.
HP also launched the Elitebook Folio G1 notebook which has a 12.5-inch Full HD display, up to an Intel Core m7-6Y75 processor, 8GB of RAM and up to a 256GB SSD. In terms of I/O, the Folio G1 has two USB Type C ports with Thunderbolt support and a microphone/headphone combo. The Folio G1 also comes with a glass trackpad with gestures enabled by default.
The Elitebook Folio G1 will be available in July with a starting price of RM6,199 for an Intel Core m7 processor.
