Honor 5C is coming to Malaysia very soon

Looking for another smartphone under RM1,000? After introducing the honor 5X, honor Malaysia is bringing their new honor 5C to our local market. Positioned a notch below the honor 5X, the latest model will be more affordable but it still gets the same premium feeling metal back.

The device is more compact with a 5.2″ display which does Full HD 1080p resolution. Under the hood, it runs on a 16nm Kirin 650 processor (4x Cortex A53 2.0GHz + 4x Cortex A53 1.7GHz) which is similar to the Huawei P9 lite. On paper, it could perform better than the Snapdragon 615 on the honor 5X. There’s also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD.

Over at the back, there’s a 13MP f/2.0 camera that’s assisted by a single LED flash. Like the 5X sibling, there’s also a fingerprint scanner that unlocks on a single tap. For selfies, it gets a familiar 8MP f/2.0 front camera that comes with a host of beautification features. Unlike the honor 4C that was launched last year, this new model will support 4G LTE with dual-SIM. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery and it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI skin on top.

In terms of price, it will be slightly cheaper than the honor 5X. As spotted by Zinggadget, Lazada had accidentally published the product page which indicate that it will be priced at RM799. If the honor 5X’s 5.5″ screen is too huge, the honor 5C could be the phone for you.

If you’re interested to win one instead, honor Malaysia is organising a contest on their Facebook page. Just take a photo of yourself with a “5C” pose and describe why you want the honor 5C in the best possible way. The contest ends on 11:59PM at 17 June 2016 and you can get more details over at their Facebook page.
