At last! Android Marshmallow is rolling out to the OnePlus 2

Good news for OnePlus 2 users because OnePlus has announced that they’re finally rolling out Android Marshmallow to their flagship smartphone. This announcement comes just after they revealed that the OnePlus 3 won’t require an invite to purchase anymore.

Initially, OnePlus announced that the update would be rolling out to the OnePlus 2 in Q1 of this year. The official build will come under OxygenOS 3.0.2 and it comes with a host of improvements and new features.

Obviously you will be getting Android 6.0 features like Doze, but OnePlus has also taken this opportunity to improve several other aspects of their smartphone.

Among some the more notable improvements would be better fingerprint recognition and performance. From our experience, the OnePlus 2’s fingerprint sensor has been a little hit or miss so this is definitely a welcomed upgrade.

Next, the One Plus 2 will get a new Camera UI with AF optimisations. The handset’s Shelf UX has also been improved to allow users to long press to edit the board.

This update will also bring an improved performance across the board which should give you a smoother performance than before, much like how it did for the OnePlus One.
