ASUS introduces the most powerful gaming laptop and compact desktop in the world

Alongside their host of new consumer products and smartphones. ASUS also pulled the covers off their latest line of gaming gear, two of which come with the title “most powerful in the world”.

Kicking things off is an update to ASUS’s mental water-cooled ROG GX700 gaming laptop. Now dubbed the GX800, this monster now packs a pair of “the latest GeForce SLI GPU” plus an Intel K-series CPU for awesome desktop-like performance.

It will still come with the liquid-cooled docking station to enable overclocking of the GPU, CPU and DRAM. One other addition that ASUS has added to their ROG GX800 is a mechanical keyboard.

Yup, much like the MSI GT80, this ROG GX800 also features a full-fledged mechanical keyboard. ASUS is calling this the MechTAG (Mechanical Tactile Advanced Gaming) keyboard. It’s RGB illuminated, has anti-ghosting and a solid keystroke action.

Next, ASUS revealed the ROG G31 Edition 10 which the company says is pound-for-pound the most powerful compact gaming desktop in the world. It isn’t hard to see why considering they’re featuring a pair of NVIDIA’s new GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards in 2-way SLI.

The G31’s case also features a futuristic design with Mayan-inspured markings and ROG-exclusive 3D vapour-chamber thermal technology to keep the system cool and quiet. For audiophiles, the G31 comes with a dedicated ESS audio DAC and amplifier headphone jack that delivers Hi-Fi grade audio to a gaming headset.
