Samsung’s Galaxy S7 flagships have almost nothing left to show after press renders leak

What else does the Korean tech conglomerate have to put on stage after almost every single detail of its upcoming flagships the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have already been leaked?

Dearly referred to as the “King of leakers” by the BBC, the notorious Evan Blass aka @evleaks has been the source of all things tech online. Be warned, this man is revered by tech journalist all over and he’s someone Samsung doesn’t want nosing around their business.

At it again, Mr Blass has released press renders of the two Galaxy S7 devices and we’re convinced that they’re real.

Taking a closer look at the two smartphones, they don’t really look much different from their predecessors. The Galaxy S7 looks to be a smaller 5.1-inch device while the S7 edge will be a step larger at 5.5-inches. From their profile, the duo appears to be thinner than before and that’ll mean you’ll feel more glass than ever before with the metal frame taking a back seat.

Although, Blass was the same individual that claimed that Samsung was going to release not two but four models at MWC 2016 – something Samsung has never done before. Shortly after, he alleged that the manufacturer decided against it and may have been postponed to a later – likely September during their phablet season – date.

The two Galaxy S7 devices look more alike than ever and the only difference – other than the size – would be the curvature of the edge tapering over the sides as expected.

If we’re continuing to take evleaks word for it, the display on the two devices will be of a Super AMOLED Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution and include an always-on-display function (AOD) that allows the “glanceable screen” to consume only a tiny bit of battery per hour.

Battery-wise the two devices will get larger lithium-ions cells too: 3000mAh on the Galaxy S7 and 3600mAh on the Galaxy S7 edge. Running its core(s) will either be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or Exynos 8890 processor which will be region dependent.

Both phones will have 4GB RAM on board and come in two internal storage variants: 32GB and 64GB. Blass claims that the microSD will make a return on the upcoming flagships as well.

On the camera front, Samsung’s BRITECELL technology is about to make its first showing and it’ll do so on the purported 12-megapixel rear sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 on both S7 smartphones.

We all love leaks

During the BBC interview that Blass gave, he candidly mentions that sometimes these smartphone makers purposely pass him information to keep the hype high. Is Samsung one of them? Well, that’s up to you to decide.

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait for the 21st of February to see if Evan Blass’ leaks are the real thing though we won’t be betting against him.
