Evleaks has begun crying wolf on the upcoming HTC flagship and you may not be happy to hear some of it. Releasing the information on VentureBeat, it seems like HTC wants to make up for its lackluster devices of late and the One M10 (codename Perfume) could give it a shot.

Their tip comes from someone who apparently spent time with a prototype of the device – we recommend everyone take it with of a heap of salt.

It’s reported that the device will be running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow under the Sense 8.0 skin that HTC has adopted. Purportedly, the screen will size in at 5.1-inches and feature a QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display. The leaker also claims that the device will carry a fingerprint scanner, in the typical home button placement as we saw in the M9+.

On the inside, Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 820 chipset will be running the show and it’ll be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Information from the anonymous source states that after all the OS and bloatware you’ll be left with 23GB of storage but there’s a microSD slot to mediate that.

In terms of how it looks the leaker mentions that the design is still being drafted so there was no reason to talk about its aesthetics. Ultrapixels are going to make a comeback and we’re not sure how to react.

The rear camera will supposedly carry a 12-UltraPixel lens and have supported laser autofocus to dial in on images quicker. The front and rear lenses will also carry OIS.

And the other big disappointment is the (rumoured) drop of BoomSound speakers. Something that we really loved and still think is the best audio listening experience on any smartphone brand.

Other than the two features that we didn’t like, it seems like HTC could make a return to the market in a big way. But it won’t come during MWC 2016 since they’ve yet to make any announcements. Meaning it’ll likely be launched at an independent event that’ll happen later.

After hearing all this could you see yourself purchasing an HTC smartphone? Let us know in the comments below.
