The OnePlus 2 will be launched tomorrow in a first ever global VR launch event. Over the past few weeks, they have been dropping teasers on its hardware, software and features which they believe is worthy enough to carry the 2016 flagship killer title. The launch is happening tomorrow at 10AM, 28th July (Malaysian Time).
To catch the action live, you can now download the VR Launch app that’s available for Android. Don’t have a VR Cardboard? You can make one yourself or you can view the Cardboard-free launch experience within the app.
To recap on the specs, the OnePlus 2 is expected to come with a similar sized 5.5″ display that pushes a higher Quad HD resolution. On the internal side of things, they have confirmed that it will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which is juiced up by a larger 3,300mAh capacity battery. The camera is expected to be a 13MP main shooter with a high resolution 8MP at the front.
New on the OnePlus 2 is a reversible USB Type C connector, and a physical home button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. Out of the box, it will run on their latest OxygenOS which is based on Lollipop during launch but it promises to offer Android M features ahead of everyone else.
Just recently, the WSJ had an interview with OnePlus’s Co-Founder Carl Pei where he shared its humble beginnings and what it takes to be a disruptor in the mobile space. You can watch the video embedded below:
