Galaxy Note 5 prototype appears and we get a better view of its S-Pen slot

Word has it that Samsung might be doing something different with its S-Pen on its upcoming Galaxy Note 5. Some are speculating that the new version will feature a stylus auto-eject feature which not only makes it cleaner to stow but feels more tactile to take out when you need it.

Based on the latest images from @onleaks, taking out the S-Pen stylus is no different from the current Note 4 or its predecessors. While it looks more flush with its metal frame, there’s an exposed portion at the side which gives enough room for you to pry it out with your fingernails. Do note that these are just alleged prototypes and the final product might be different from what is shown here.

With the latest flagships like the S6 and S6 edge sporting premium materials, the S-Pen might get a redesign with matching metallic colours. A Gold Platinum colour S-Pen is shown below and the top has a metallic end while the mid-section maintains a secondary button.

The S-Pen on the Galaxy Note 4 marks a huge improvement over its previous stylus with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity and it gets heaps of productivity features out of the box. What will Samsung do next to improve its S-Pen? We’ll find out in a couple of weeks time as the Note 5 and S6 edge+ are expected to be announced as early as 12th August.
