Cool Treats on Demand: Uber Ice Cream is rolling out in KL, JB and Penang on 24th July

Remember the times when it was a joy to hear the ice cream man in the neighbourhood? If you want some cool ice cream treats, fire up your Uber app tomorrow, (Friday) 24th July as Uber is having their annual Ice Cream Day worldwide.

Instead of waiting, you can order ice cream from the Uber app and have them delivered to you. Just like ordering an Uber ride, the whole process is cashless and it will be charged directly to your assigned credit or debit card.

For Malaysia, the Uber Ice Cream run is available in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru and you can order your ice cream that’s priced between RM20-25. Below are the participating ice cream vendors and pricing:

Kuala Lumpur
Serving The Inside Scoop MYR 20 for 3 pieces

Johor Bahru
Serving Scoop Bar RM 25 for 4 pieces

Penang
Serving Kochabi RM25 for 6 piece

It is happening from 1PM in KL and 11AM in Penang and JB while stocks last, so look out for the Ice Cream slider option within the app. If you haven’t download Uber yet, it is available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

The ice cream service is just one of Uber’s interesting initiatives. Next Monday, they will be offering a first of its kind Mi Note deliveries where you can order the smart phone a day earlier and have it delivered to you within minutes in Kuala Lumpur. This demonstrates their platform capabilities beyond just moving people from point A to B.
