OPPO announces the second iteration of its eye-catching Mirror model

Taking similar cues with its recent announcement, OPPO reveals the OPPO Mirror 5 – a lower end sibling to the aesthetically similar big brother, the OPPO R1x. The Mirror keeps true to its namesake with glass donning the rear of the device, accented with glistening prims that will allow an occasional double take from onlookers. Eager owners can choose between an Ivory White and Midnight Blue, while the innards are beefed up by a bi-metallic frame to improve sturdiness.

The 7.65 mm slate, allows photo-enthusiast and amateurs alike to fully take charge with a slew of features accompanying the rear 8 megapixel and 5 megapixel front shutters. The lenses comes in at a f/2.2 aperture lens along with the ability of slow shutter, audio photo, double exposure and other notable OPPO camera features. Its big brother definitely comes up tops, as the R1x is equip with an f/2.0 sensor for the 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front.

Hardware wise, a 64 bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad-core processor powers this nifty phone, and is helped along by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that is expandable to 128 GB with a micro SD card. This sits well below the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, of the R1x. The screen however is a mere 960 x 540 5-inch display, that sits just well enough, considering it’ll be priced lower than the OPPO R1x: that pushes higher pixels – 1280 x 720, in its 5-inch IPS HD panel. Battery on the other hand, stands at 2420 mAh – non-removable. Going along the trend of allowing users to use two SIMs, OPPO does the same for the Mirror 5.

There will also be a LTE variant dubbed the Mirror 5s, however OPPO has yet to mention dates for both of these devices. For more info you can check out OPPO’s Mirror 5 product page.
