U Mobile offers the Huawei P8 from RM546

If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on the Huawei P8, now U Mobile is offering the smartphone on contact starting from RM 546, not too long after Celcom has started offering the device as well.

To recap on the specs, the Huawei P8 has a 5.2″ Full HD display and it runs on their in-house 64-bit Kirin 930 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage, with dual-SIM 4G LTE and it supports microSD expansion via its 2nd SIM card slot. For the camera, it has the world’s first 13MP shooter with 4-colour RGBW sensor and it is further assisted with Optical Image Stabiliser that claims to tolerate shakes 2X better than other competing flagships. Meanwhile the front boast a 8MP front facing camera with a host of beautification features. The Huawei P8 retails for RM 1,799 off the shelf.

Its however a little weird that U Mobile is still using the Ascend naming convention despite Huawei having dropped it starting with the P8.

The plans

The base Ultimate Device Plan 65 comes with 3GB of mobile data and 60 minutes of voice calls to all network. For internet, there’s no extra charge for excess usage but speeds will be throttled. For heavy usage users, the Ultimate Device Plan 135 comes with 6GB of data, 130 minutes of calls and 65 SMS to all network.

The excess usage rates are similar across all three plans with voice calls being charged at 5 sen per 30 seconds (10 sen/minute). On top of that, they are also offering  a 0% Easy Payment Plan if you’re a credit credit card holder of CIMB, Maybank, HSBC, RHB, Ambank, UOB, Standard Chartered and Citibank.
