The sequel of the 2014 flagship killer, the OnePlus 2 will be launched in less than 30 days. The latest flagship will be running on the top of the line Snapdragon 810 processor, comes with USB Type C and it will cost more than its previous model.
Now they have dropped more hints and the OnePlus 2 claims to feature the world’s most advanced fingerprint scanner.
According to OnePlus, they could have added a fingerprint scanner on their current One flagship but they believed that biometric security has to be done right. Most implementations they mentioned were just tacked on as a selling point instead of being useful to the user. For the upcoming 2, they will be using one of the latest and the most advanced fingerprint scanner, which they say is faster than Apple’s TouchID. They added that one quick tap leads you directly to your home screen and you can program up to a maximum of 5 fingers.
Several Android flagships like the Galaxy S6, HTC One M9/M9+ and Huawei Ascend Mate 7 have adopted single touch unlocking for its finger print sensors. Can OnePlus do any better? Qualcomm has introduced Sense ID, which is a 3D fingerprint technology that works more accurately and reliably even with contaminated finger tips. At time of announcement, Qualcomm says that Sense ID will be introduced on the latest Snapdragon 810 and 425 processors, so there’s a possibility of this being implemented on the OnePlus 2. All shall be revealed when the OnePlus 2 is launched virtually this coming 27th July.
