Road fatalities are a huge problem especially at trunk roads with limited opportunity to overtake. In Argentina, almost a person dies every hour in a traffic accident, which is not much different from Malaysia with an average of 18 deaths each day.
As an initiative, Samsung Argentina had come out with an interesting idea which makes overtaking safer.
Dubbed as the Samsung Safety Truck, they have fitted 4 large screen monitors at the back of their trucks which displays a live feed taken from the front camera. This allow vehicles behind it to get a clearer view of what’s ahead, which is useful at single-lane roads. It works in the dark as well since the front camera has night vision. Wouldn’t it be cool if our local express buses and long trailer trucks had the same set up?
