OPPO R7 launching in Malaysia on 7th July?

Two new OPPO devices have just been spotted in SIRIM’s database, and word on the wind says that the OPPO R7 lite and R7 Plus could be launching on 7th July, thanks to our tipster @KevinNgTK on twitter.

The phones, listed as the R7f and R7kf are likely to be OPPO’s R7 and R7 Plus and its great news that we could be getting them very soon. However we don’t know why we might not be getting the R7 at launch but the Lite version instead, if the launch event leak is real. Perhaps OPPO is planning a big reveal perhaps?

To recap on the specs, the OPPO R7 is an ultra-slim device with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor mated to 3GB RAM with 16GB expandable storage. It will also be sporting a 5 inch 1080p AMOLED display with 2.5D glass with smoothed out edges as well as a non-removable 2,320mAh battery and dual-SIM 4G connectivity. As for the camera it will have a 13 megapixel ISOCELL rear snapper and 8 megapixel front camera. It will be running ColourOS 2.1 which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The OPPO R7 Plus on the other hand has 3GB RAM and a larger 32GB onboard storage as well as a large 4,100mAh battery. The display will be a 6 inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display and it uses a 4 colour RGBW 13MP camera much like the Huawei P8 that’s assisted with dual LED flash. According to OPPO, the the 4 colour set up would improve picture brightness while reducing noise. It also gets a fingerprint scanner at the back. The R7 Plus will be running ColourOS 2.1 as well but one that’s based on Android 5.1 instead.

The 5″ OPPO R7 will be retailing for 2499 CNY (about RM 1457) while the 6″ OPPO R7 Plus at 2999 CNY (about RM 1749). For more info, you can check out the respective OPPO R7 and OPPO R7 Plus product pages.

Thanks for the tip @KevinNgTK!
