The Apple Watch has been released only a couple of months back and already Apple is planning some improvements on the supposed second gen Watch.
Of the new features the device reportedly will have is a FaceTime camera for video calls. The decision to include the camera isn’t yet set in stone so it might not even make it to the final product. Also the next Apple Watch is rumoured to be adopting Wi-Fi compatibility to make the watch less dependent on your phone and capable of more on its own.
The Wi-Fi chip will also allow the Find my Watch feature to work better and allow the company to track the watches via router triangulation instead of GPS.
However this would impact the battery life so Apple is attempting to get more usage time out of the battery; which as it is only lasts about 18 hours at best with varied usage.
Ultimately Apple is planning for more models of the Watch, but we don’t know yet what are they planning in terms of design, materials or other potential factors in the make of the next gen Watch. The Watch is set to launch somewhere in 2016 so a lot of this could change along the way, but for now nothing is official.
