OnePlus 2 will be running on a Snapdragon 810 processor

It’s official, the OnePlus 2 is going to have a Snapdragon 810 CPU under the hood. It isn’t a massive surprise considering the original OnePlus had a Snapdragon running the show but we wonder how well it would do considering the Snapdragon 810 is notorious for overheating issues.

OnePlus however feels quite confident that their device will be able to stay cool as it’s using the V2.1 upgraded variant of the chip. They also apparently will be a layer of thermal gel and graphite on top of the SoC to ensure proper heat dissipation to avert performance issues due to the heat. However it still remains to be seen just how well it will perform because the Sony Xperia Z3+/Z4 is running into the same problems with the updated chip.

Of what we know about the device so far is that a leaked Geekbench benchmark has hinted towards 3GB RAM and is rumoured to also be sporting a fingerprint scanner.

The brand will eventually reveal the rest of the smartphone soon with a continuous teaser campaign like what they did with the first phone.
