Apart from rumours that Microsoft’s coming flagships the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL will have USB Type-C connectors, 20 megapixel camera and Quad-HD displays, the latest one is pointing towards a triple-LED flash for the rear camera. A blurred out photo was put on Twitter which is said to be that very same camera.
The image comes from @evleaks but has been blurred out so as to not reveal too much but it was still the basis of a 3D rendering that gives us a much clearer look at it. The image shows what looks like three LEDS above the lens.

Dual flash tech is already pretty widespread as it is but not many have tried tackling three, but the colour difference between the LEDs hints towards a colour spectrum sensor. The only other device currently out there right now to have a three-LED array is the Lenovo Vibe Shot which looks more like a camera than a phone.
To recap on the specs of the device, the the Lumia 940 is rumoured to have a 5.2 inch display on 2560 x 1440, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage on top of a 3,000mAh battery. It will also apparently sport a 20 megapixel camera which isn’t too alien for Lumia phones considering their heritage of having huge snappers out back.
On the Lumia 940 XL phablet on the other hand will apparently have a larger 5.7 inch display but similar internals as the Lumia 940 with the exception of a slightly larger battery at 3,300mAh and a Snapdragon 808 processor under the hood.
So far the devices are looking pretty promising and we honestly can’t wait to get our hands on the actual unit.
