This festive season, Maxis wants you to own a 4G LTE smart phone for free with its MaxisOne Plan. The free device on offer includes the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style, Lenovo A6000 Plus, Acer Liquid Z410, ASUS Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) and Xiaomi Redmi 2.
All devices are tied wtih 24 months contract duration. With the MaxisONE Plan, you’ll get unlimited calls and SMS, plus 2GB of data each month at RM128/month. If you want to sign on a cheaper plan, the MaxisONE Plan Lite of RM78/month offers unlimited calls and SMS only within Maxis/Hotlink network, and you get 1GB of data. In terms of phone pricing, the Acer Liquid Z410 is still free on MaxisONE Plan Lite but the rest of the models would cost between RM99-RM199.

Strangely while it mentions no upfront payments on their promo page, their online store is still requiring an upfront payment of RM512 if you sign up with MaxisONE Plan or RM312 with its lower commitment MaxisONE Plan Lite. In terms of specs, the ASUS Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) and Lenovo A6000 Plus would be the better buy as both comes with 2GB of RAM and a more practical 16GB of on-board storage.
