The Samsung Galaxy Tab E is now official

Samsung‘s cheaper version of the Galaxy Tab A has been spotted making the rounds quite a bit lately, and now they’ve finally launched the real deal.

The new tablet was just announced in Taiwan and the device will be sporting a 9.6 inch TFT display with a 800 x 1280 resolution and is a mere 8.5mm thick. As far as specs are concerned the Samsung Galaxy Tab E will have a quad-core 1.3GHz processor running the show though Samsung hasn’t confirmed what model exactly.

It will also be sporting 1.5GB RAM, 8GB expandable storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera with a 2 megapixel front snapper as well as an enormous 5,000mAh battery. The device will be running Android KitKat instead of Lollipop and also would be a Wi-Fi only for now but Samsung should also be planning to release a 3G variant as well.

The Galaxy Tab E will be available for $225 in Taiwan which translates to about RM 844, and will be hitting the market before the end of the month. No news yet if it will be launched in other countries but there is a possibility that it should be released in the Asian region at the very least.
