The Huawei P8 smart phone is launching in Malaysia this week, offering a sleek alternative to other mainstream flagship smart phones. The device will be arriving on our shores on 18th June and it is priced at RM1,799 as per pre-order which has started earlier this month.
The P8 packs a 5.2″ Full HD display that’s powered by their in-house developed 64-bit Octa-Core Kirin 930 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. You also get dual-SIM card slots supporting 4G LTE, and there’s an option to accept a microSD card using the 2nd sim slot. For taking pictures, the P8 offers a 13MP main shooter with 4 colour RGBW sensor that’s further assisted with Optical Image Stabiliser. The front gets a 8MP selfie shooter that’s enhanced with an array of beautification tools.
The Huawei P8 gets a premium feeling unibody metal design which is somewhat similar to the Xpreria Z3. It is only 6.4mm thick and weighs just 144 grams with its 2,680mAh capacity battery. The P8 runs on Android 5.0 with its custom EMUI 3.1 interface. There are couple of interesting features with the P8 particularly its Light painting preset modes and a unique Director Mode where it connects up to 3 additional smart phones for extra video angle footages.
For the display, there’s also a knuckle sense feature where you can screen capture or crop images by tapping and drawing using your knuckle. It is a major upgrade from its former Huawei Ascend P7 and even the box is different from what we’ve seen from the rest.
Owners of the P8 will also get additional VIP treatment as Huawei will be offering one to one device replacement for 12 months months plus free delivery when you send in your device for service. If you cracked your screen, Huawei also offers a 3 month LCD replacement warranty.
