Following the announcement of ASUS Zenfone 2 with a massive 4GB RAM, Lenovo had responded with their K80 smart phone. Announced for the Chinese market, the K80 also runs on Intel’s 64-bit processor with 4GB RAM and it also gets a similar sized 5.5″ Full HD display. The folks at DirectD is now offering imported units for RM999 but this is only for the 2GB RAM version. The 4GB RAM model is mentioned to be coming soon but do expect a slightly higher price tag.

Spec wise, it runs on Intel’s 1.83GHz Quad-Core Atom Z3560 processor which is similar to the mid-range offering of the current Zenfone 2 series. The unit on offer gets 2GB of RAM and there’s 32GB of storage. The front display is a 5.5″ Full HD IPS unit that pushes a pixel density of 401ppi (pixels per inch).

For imaging, it gets a 13MP OIS rear and 5MP main and out of the box it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Probably the bigger advantage here is the battery as the K80 comes with a much larger 4,000mAh capacity unit and it still manages to have a slender 8.5mm side profile. This is a 4G LTE unit with single SIM but there’s no mention of its supported bands. When announced in China, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version is priced at 1,799 CNY which is about RM1,083 if converted directly.

If you’re interested, you can check it out at DirectD.
