You know selfies are important when smart phone brands make narcissist-focused devices like the Sony Xperia C4 and ASUS Zenfone Selfie. Now it appears that Apple could be jumping onto the selfie bandwagon as well for its upcoming iPhone that’s expected to launch by end of this year.
In the new Apple iOS 9 developer preview, there’s a code that suggests support for Full HD FaceTime and high 240fps frame rate video recording as well. The biggest surprise is having to support a flash for its front facing camera. This opens up a possibility that the new iPhones may come with a front facing flash which offers better lit selfies in the dark. At the moment, most of its flagship rivals like the Galaxy S6 are boasting better low light shots with the use of faster f/1.9 lens.
For the upcoming iPhone, Apple is expected to make a jump to 12MP for its main camera. They have been sticking to having just 8MP since 2011 with its iPhone 4S to the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. For the front camera, they could be bumping its 1.2MP shooter to something higher, since most flagships are sporting at least 5MP these days.
If you take lots of selfies, is having a front flash a big deal to you?
