Rumour has it that Samsung is about to announce not one but
two new high-end tablets that will take the place of the original Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5
Now we have proof that the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is indeed on its way since it has just received TENAA certification. According to the tablet’s overall dimensions at 198.2 x 134.5 x 5.4 mm, this could very well be the thinnest tablet to date, measuring in at a paltry 5.4mm.
In terms of specs the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will have an octa-core processor clocking 1.9GHz that’s likely to be the Exynos 7420, 3GB RAM as well as an 8 inch AMOLED display with 1536 x 2048 resolution. The tablet will also have LTE support as well as expandable storage starting at 16GB. The camera will be an 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front combo. No word yet on the battery unfortunately, but it doesn’t look like they will be able to squeeze in much with how thin the tablet looks.
The tablet and it’s larger variant is expected to be launched sometime in June, and that’s likely not too far off.
