iflix is Malaysia’s answer to Netflix

Internet TV provider iflix is finally live, bringing the region what people have been calling the “Asian Netflix”. Starting with Malaysia, the service will be starting from RM 10 a month for unlimited access. The brainchild of  Catcha Group and Evolution Media Capital, the streaming service is set to give other services like Astro On the Go and Unifi’s HyppTV a run for their money.

For those who want to try it out, you can sign up for a free 14 day trial of the service that gives unlimited access to a library of over 10,000 hours of Local, Asian and Western content from BBC, Fox and Warner to name a few. You can also get access to iflix on up to five devices which includes smartphones, tablets, smart TVs and laptops to name a few, and you can share an iflix subscription on two different devices at once for each sub.

After that, getting an annual subscription for one year will net you a 20% discount monthly, which further drags the rate down to just RM 8 a month (or RM 96 a year) should you decide to subscribe. The company hopes that this will help curb local consumption of pirated content with it’s extremely cheap subscription price and vast library of high quality content.

Head on over to their site to subscribe.
