The smartphone has the same general looks as it’s predecessor as well as the bezel-less look but has a larger screen as well as updated internals. It may not be the thinnest at 11mm thick but due to it’s bezel-less display (like the original Crystal) the front camera is placed under the screen alongside the earphone speaker that sports bone conducing tech so you can still use it like a standard smartphone.
Under the hood, the AQUOS Crystal 2 has a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor mated to 2GB RAM alongside 16GB non-expandable storage. The display on the other hand is a 5.2 inch screen, larger than it’s predecessor’s 5 inch display. The device will have 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi and NFC support as well as a 2,030 mAh battery. It will be featuring a 8 megapixel rear camera as well as a 2 megapixel front camera, with a rather standard setup for mid-range smartphones. The phone will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Like it’s predecessor it will also be water and dust resistant.
No word on the pricing just yet, but the phone will be available in white, black, pink and turquoise and will be hitting the market in Japan come July.
