Here’s a clearer look of OPPO’s ultra-thin R7 and R7 Plus

OPPO’s next big thing will be its OPPO R7 which would come in 2 different sizes. We’ve seen the leaked commercial and now we get a clearer look from what appears to be its official render.

The R series is usually associated with its ultra-thin series and before this, their OPPO R5 was the thinnest smart phone in the world at only 4.85mm thick. For the next version, the R7 will come in 2 sizes – the standard R7 that’s likely to be a 5 incher and a bigger R7 Plus model which could carry at least 5.5″ display.

From the design it looks pretty slender and it shares a metal frame surrounding the device. Between the two models, the OPPO R7 Plus seems to be an on-screen button as it gets a large OPPO branding right below the display. Over at the back, it also carries what seems to be a fingerprint scanner, dual-tone LED flash and a black colour element which could be an infrared LED for camera focus.

Meanwhile the standard R7 retains a classic look with a clean looking back. Looking at the two models side by side, the placement of the volume rockers and power button are different between the two, with the power button placed on the right for the R7 Plus, while the standard R7 is having it on the left. Details of the rest of the device is quite scarce and we are hoping that they would include a battery that could last full day on a single charge. As usual, you can expect OPPO to include its famed VOOC rapid charge that juices up from 0-75% in 30 minutes.

The OPPO R7 is expected to be revealed on 20th May. If you’re looking for top end specs and performance, we would have to wait for its Find 9, which is the likely successor of its current Find 7.
