Samsung Galaxy Note 5 details emerged along with Project Zen

With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge out of the way, it is obvious that Samsung is working on the Galaxy Note 5 as their next big thing. Like the past Galaxy Note launches, the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 should be making its debut at IFA 2015 that’s happening in early September.

The folks at Sammobile had acquired a few interesting details of the upcoming flagship phablet. Unlike the Galaxy Note 4, there would be only one variant for the Galaxy Note 5 which possibly means that there won’t be a unit running on Snapdragon 810 or 820 processor. The display of the standard Galaxy Note 5 would be a flat screen that pushes either 2K (Quad HD) or 4K resolution.

In terms of processor, it is rumoured to be having a newer Exynos 7422 unit which is their first all-in-one solution with an integrated CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and modem in a single chip. However there’s also a possibility that the Note 5 could be running on a newer Exynos 7430 processor.

For the curve display variant a.k.a. Note edge replacement, it is speculated as “Project Zen” internally. Unlike the Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy Note edge which are essentially the same device with a different display, Project Zen apparently would be a very different device and the hardware may not be entirely high-end.

The display is said to be featuring a smaller 5.4″ or 5.5″ dual-curved Super AMOLED display and runs on a Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor that’s powering the LG G4. Other spec details includes an S-Pen, 16GB of storage, 16MP main camera with OIS and a 8MP front camera. Being a notch below the Galaxy Note 5, perhaps we could be seeing a smaller price gap between the two new models. Currently, the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy S6 edge are priced RM500 more than its normal flat screen version.
