It’s official, the ZTE Nubia Z9 was just launched in Beijing and the phone features a bezel-less, edge to edge screen.
ZTE’s latest flagship will come in three variants, all sporting the same specs but with different RAM and storage options which pretty much influences their pricing.
Under the hood, the ZTE Nubia Z9 features a Snapdragon 810 processor, NFC, 16 megapixel f/2.0 rear and 8 megapixel Sony front camera combo alongside a 2900mAh battery and Nubia UI 3.0 out of the box. But what really makes it special here is the 2.5D glass display which is a 5.2 inch 1080p screen that has a 0.8mm bezel which uses some optical sorcery to reflect the on-screen content to give it a bezel free look. The phone itself will be just 8.94mm thick, without a protruding rear camera.
The Z9 also gets a sound boost thanks to Neosound 4.0, an AKM4961 Hi-Fi processor and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.
The phone also features a FIT interactive frame that allows the phone’s body to be touch sensitive and react to gesture controls that will allow users to activate the camera, take screencaps and adjust the brightness among other things. The Exclusive edition of the phone also gets their new TIO patented fingerprint tech on the power and volume rockers that can be used to unlock the phone.
As for the price, the Nubia Z9 is certainly priced like a flagship, with the Classic version coming with 3GB AM and 32GB storage costing 3499 CNY (about RM 2025) and the Elite version comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for 3999 CNY (about RM 2315) and the Exclusive variant that comes with TIO tech, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for a rather ridiculous 4499 CNY (RM 2604)
The Z9 is currently on pre-sale in China so it shouldn’t be too long before resellers get their hands on the device locally.
