Sony Xperia E4g now available in Malaysia with Celcom’s First Basic 38 Plan

The Sony Xperia E4g is finally here, offering a compact sized 4G LTE device that’s also easy to use for non-smart phone users. Priced at RM549, the Xperia E4g is now being offered on Celcom contract from as low as RM158 (excluding GST).

In terms of specs, it gets a 4.7″ IPS display that does qHD resolution of 960×540 and underneath it runs on a Quad-Core 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6732 processor with 1GB of RAM. You also get 8GB of storage and a microSD slot for expansion.

For taking pictures, it has a 5MP camera with LED flash that supports auto scene recognition and HDR, while the front camera shoots at 2MP.

Powering the device is a non-removal 2,300mAh capacity battery which comes with Sony’s phenomenal up to 2 days of battery life. You can potentially stretch this further with Stamina mode enabled.

Considering this is also targeted for first time smart phone users, the Xperia E4g also has the option to switch to a simplified home screen where it displays your crucial apps up front with a more basic interface.

If you don’t want to spend too much on mobile subscription, the device is bundled on contract with Celcom First Basic 38 that offers 3GB of data and 50 minutes of calls + 50 SMS at only RM38/month. For the Xperia E4g bundling, you’ll need to add-on Celcom’s Escape content package that comes with 2 Movie Passes at RM10/month. This brings up the monthly subscription to RM48/month.

The Xperia E4g from Celcom is priced as follows (before GST):

FIRST Basic 38 (12 months) – RM298
FIRST Basic 38 (24 months) – RM158

During sign up, you would need to pay an upfront payment of RM100 (12 months) or RM250 (24 months) which will be rebated back to your bills across 10 months.
