During Microsoft’s Build 2015 keynote, the company has not only shown off it’s Windows 10 edition and how it would work across multiple platforms but also dropped a potential release date for the Windows Phone version of the OS.
Apart from showcasing the interface that will be shared by both Windows 10 and Windows 10 phone devices, Microsoft has also made the Windows platform easier to port Android and iOS apps to, users can now use the same app across multiple platforms and have their work follow them with Continuum feature, where the interface morphs to your current device and seamless transition between each one.
So far the experience looks quite seamless and basically it means you can hop from your laptop to your phone and back again without any interruption in your workflow. Microsoft is still going over the final, minute details like menu positioning but they’ve already finalised their landscape mode, which is a very welcome addition that would allow content to fit in ways Android and iOS still aren’t really capable of.
As for the release date, this image is believed to be hinting at when Windows 10 for phones might actually hit the market but aside from being an example of how the landscape mode would look like the release date is no more than hearsay for now.
