The Apple Watch gets a teardown, tiny innards exposed

Less than a few days since it’s become available to the general public, iFixit once again gets their hands on the gadget for the sole purpose of taking it apart.

The 38mm Apple Watch scores a repairability score of 5 out of 10, having generally easy to remove components but is a bit difficult to get inside due to tiny tri-wing screws and a fully encased S1 system as well as cables are all soldered in, making board repairs nigh impossible. They also found that the battery inside is a 205mAh battery, which is quite tiny compared to the larger 300mAh batteries typically found in most android wear devices.

So if you need to get the battery, screen or band replaced you’re in luck, these are the easiest components to replace in the smartwatch. Check out the teardown below or check out our first impressions of the Apple Watch.
