TM offers faster 30Mbps and 50Mbps Unifi Home packages at selected areas

UPDATE: TM’s Unifi 30Mbps and 50Mbps plans are now available.

For those with the need for speed, TM is now offering faster 30Mbps and 50Mbps Unifi options for residential use at selected locations. The plans were discovered by Amanz and TM is offering them as a bundled package with its HyppTV subscription.

The base option with 30Mbps connection is going for RM210.94/month inclusive of GST. This lets you add-on a TV Pack of either HyppTV Aneka , Varnam or Ruby. If you want more channels, it will cost you RM242.74/month for its HyppTV Jumbo Package.

To bump up from 30Mbps to 50Mbps, TM is offering the extra 20Mbps speed as an add-on upgrade at RM53/month on top of its base offering. So at the bare minimum, this calculates to RM263.94/month inclusive of GST. Not bad, considering the current VIP 20Mbps plan is also priced the same at RM263.94/month.

Interestingly, TM is also offering P1 as an extra add-on. The P1 ToGo Plan with a USB modem is offered at RM30.74/month extra and it comes with 5GB quota with 1Mbps download speeds.

If you look at the price, you’ll notice that free calls within fixed lines isn’t included like its standard Unifi VIP 5Mbps, 10Mbps and 20Mbps offering. By default, all domestic voice calls to both fixed and mobile numbers are charged at RM0.21/minute. For those who plan to talk a lot, you can add RM21.20/month for a voice pack which comes with 600 minutes of phone calls. When you used up your minutes, you can still continue to make free calls to fixed lines while calls to mobile numbers are charged at a lower flat rate of RM0.11/minute.

According to the source, these new packages are only applicable at Bangsar, Damansara Utama, Kepong, Menara TM, Puchong, Serdang, Shah Alam and USJ Taipan for new subscribers only. Existing subscribers are not eligible for an upgrade and the 50Mbps service is limited to low-rise buildings only.
