In celebration of Xiaomi’s 5th birthday, the company held the Mi Fan Festival 2015 with Malaysia, India and Indonesia joining the fun for the first time.
Xiaomi has hit their best ever online sales record, selling 2.12 million phones over 12 hours, equating to a total revenue of RMB 2.08 billion (about US 335 million) in sales, beating it’s own record of 1.16 million phone sold last year during Singles day. Of the items sold were over 38,000 Mi TVs and over 770,000 smart appliances, inclusive of 200,000 Mi Bands and 247,000 Mi Power Strips.
Not one to slack, Xiaomi already shipped 500,000 orders within 12 hours with the first order reaching a customer just 1 hour 27 minutes into the sale, with a grand total of 3.05 million orders in that span of time. Last year they sold a grand total of 61.12 million smartphones and it looks likely that they might just top that number this year with worldwide sales.
