Last week, we posted a series of pictures taken using the Galaxy S6 edge, the iPhone 6, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z3. Then we asked you to choose which of the phones took the best pictures, to make it fair (and interesting), we didn’t tell you which picture was taken using which device.
You’ve diligently ranked the pictures and we’ve tabulated the results, and here they are.
Based on your votes, it looks like the Galaxy Note Edge is a favourite, consistently ranked in the top three. The iPhone 6 and the Xperia Z3 didn’t fare well with both devices being ranked at the bottom two in most of the tests. Having the same camera hardware as the Note Edge, the Galaxy S6 received also ranked well among our readers.
When it comes to camera performance, the Galaxy Note Edge is among the best you can get. In this test, you can see that it performed well in almost every condition, especially in challenging lighting conditions, as you can see in the Set 4. While the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge has the same camera hardware as the Note Edge (and Note 4), it looks like the Note Edge is slightly better optimised to produce better pictures overall. To be honest, we expected a lot from the iPhone 6 but in this test, it was ranked poorly in all but one of the sets, which is disappointing.
Despite being a generation behind in terms of hardware, the Galaxy S5 did ok in this test. The Xperia Z3 however, failed to shine and is outclassed by its competitors.
So what do you think? Did the result turn out as you expected? How well did your favourite phone do in the test? Let us know in the comments section.
