Xiaomi’s premium Mi Headphones goes on sale on 8th April

Xiaomi’s Piston in-ear headphones deliver great value for money at just RM50. If you demand greater sound, Xiaomi is bringing its new premium Mi Headphones to Malaysia. This was announced in January together with its Mi Note.

Priced at RM319, this is no ordinary pair of headphones. For starters, it comes with a larger 50mm diaphragm with a 2 micron thick acoustic membrane. This promises to deliver better bass and incredible sensitivity that should please most music listeners. In terms of materials, you can expect similar quality as its current Gold coloured Pistons.

There’s a detachable 1.4m kevlar fibre cable which helps to minimises interference and it is less prone to tangles too. Designed for mobile users, there’s a built-in microphone for phone calls and it also comes with volume controls.

Holding both earpieces together, it has leather looking band that comes with red stitching from end to end. The ear piece cushions are interchangeble with 3 different kits consisting of on-ear and over-ear sizes. Out of the box, it gets a complete kit including a zip around case, travel bag, airplane audio adapter and a 3.5mm to 6.3mm gold plated adapter. Not bad for RM319 and it is set to challenge its more expensive rivals.

The Mi Fan Festival is happening from 10AM to 10PM on this coming Wednesday 8th April. For the new products, it will be sold at 12PM and 4PM timeslots. For more information, head over to Xiaomi Malaysia’s Mi Headphone product page and be sure to read their buyers guide.
