HTC One M9+ set to launch in Beijing next month

Just when you thought HTC is gonna settle for just One M9 as their flagship, the Taiwanese maker will be introducing One more. After several rumours and leaks, the anticipated HTC One M9 Plus is finally going to be launched on 8th April in Beijing. Likely to be announced officially as the HTC One M9+, the upcoming device has been rumoured to carry a larger display of at least 5.2″ and it pushes a higher Quad HD resolution of 2560×1440.

In terms of processor, the One M9+ could be released with two processor options – an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 similar to its current One M9 or possibly a high-end 64-bit chip from MediaTek. Looking at the teaser, we can confirm that HTC would be bringing back its Duo Camera set up like the previous One M8. Build quality and design would be similar with its current One with a dual-tone unibody metal design as shown above.

For the past few weeks, leakster @OnLeaks has been supplying a constant stream of details on the upcoming One M9+ model. Some of the interesting claims include a fingerprint scanner at the front that’s housed in a Samsung-like home button. Now another fresh leak of a supposed working prototype seems to substantiate such claims as shown below.

With the “More than One” event happening in China, this is likely to be an Asian exclusive model similar to the HTC One E8 but eventually it might be released gradually to other markets. If the HTC One M9 isn’t up to your expectation, would you be more excited with a bigger One M9+? So far the HTC One M9 has been released in Taiwan and the US market will be receiving theirs on 10th April. Until now, there’s still no news of its Malaysian availability and it could be released around May.
