You can now buy the ASUS ZenFone 2 in Malaysia

Can’t wait for the ASUS ZenFone 2 in Malaysia? DirectD is offering it now as a grey import unit. Before you start drooling over the anticipated 4GB RAM specs, the ZenFone 2 on offer is the lower spec ZE550ML version.

What you’ll get is a 5.5″ display that does HD 720p resolution and its Intel Quad-Core 1.8GHz Atom Z3560 processor is mated to 2GB of RAM. For storage, it has 16GB which is expandable with microSD up to 64GB. Imaging wise, it gets a 13MP camera with dual-LED flash while the front gets a 5MP main shooter. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery which is non-removable. On top of that, it also supports 4G LTE as well as dual-SIMs.

So how much is it? Like most direct imports that gives you an early ownership advantage, it will cost you a premium at RM999. For now, they are offering the ZenFone 2 in either White or Red colours.

If you are willing to wait, ASUS Malaysia is targeting for Q2 2015 release in our local market. Hopefully there’s no further delays like the current version.
