Honor, the e-commerce sub-brand of Huawei will be releasing its new Honor 4X in Malaysia. This is their mid-range 64-bit smart phone that supports dual-SIM and 4G LTE.
At the front, the 5.5″ screen pushes a modest HD 720p resolution and under the hood, it comes in two 64-bit processor variants – 1.2GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and a 1.2GHz Octa-Core Hi-Silicon Kirin 620 version. Whichever model that comes, it gets a generous 2GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage which can be extended with microSD.
For imaging, it gets a similar 13MP Sony BSI main + 5MP selfie cams as the Honor 6. Keeping the lights on is a decent 3,000mAh capacity battery which claims to last up to 3 days. At time of writing, it still runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with its latest EMUI 3.0 on top. Overall, the Honor 4X is 8.65mm thick and it weighs 170g.
With its imminent launch happening soon, Honor Malaysia has started its registration of interest. Pricing wise, do expect it to be competitively priced like its Honor 6. In China, the Kirin version of the Honor 4X is priced from 799 CNY, which is about RM469 when converted directly. This could possibly give the Redmi 2 (RM449) a serious run for its money.
