Huawei had launched multiple products at MWC 2015 but it is saving its latest pride and joy at a separate event. It’s upcoming Huawei P8, the replacement of its current Ascend P7 flagship is set to be launched sometime next month in April.
To build up the hype, they have started releasing teasers, with the first one focusing on battery life. The Ascend P6 and Ascend P7 were Huawei’s showcase of making a premium smart phone that’s also slim to hold. If they intend to give a longer battery life, the Chinese maker could either add a larger capacity battery or perhaps better optimisation to squeeze more hours from its Kirin processor. The image shows a digital figure of 8 with a battery bar taking of its of piece. We can’t be sure right now but they probably would be revealing 7 more new features in the next couple of weeks towards its launch.
In terms of specs, the upcoming Huawei P8 (They are likely to drop the Ascend moniker) is speculated to carry a 5.2″ Full HD display and it would probably run on their newer Kirin 930 processor that’s currently powering their new MediaPad X2 tablet. It is also likely to carry a much generous 3GB of RAM and a twin-camera combo that was featured on the Honor 6 Plus.
The new Kirin processors are getting more competent especially the Kirin 920 on the Honor 6 which is almost on par with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 processors. We’ll find out next month if Huawei has something to give Samsung and HTC something to worry about.
