Xiaomi Yi Action camera compared with the GoPro

Xiaomi is bringing its cheap and good proposition to a whole new category with its Yi Action Camera. Priced at only 399 CNY (about RM235), Xiaomi is disrupting the action camera segment where GoPro is the dominant player. Can this cheap little thing be better than the GoPro?

Someone has gotten their hands on one and has compared it against its more expensive rivals such as the GoPro HERO 3 and HERO 4. Check out the comparison photos and video after the break.

The GoPro HERO 4 still aces in the comparison but in some aspects like in low light conditions, the Yi Camera appears to be better than the HERO 3. For the price of under RM300, the Yi Camera is seriously bang for the buck. If you’re looking for an action camera on a budget, just to try things out, you can’t go wrong with the Yi Camera. The only challenge is getting one officially in our local market.
