Announcing the Oppo R1C not too long ago in January, Oppo is going to launch said phone worldwide this April under the name of the Oppo R1x.
Featuring similar design concepts as the Oppo R5, the sapphire-glass backed smartphone is quite skinny at 6.85mm and weighs only 130 grams, with the aforementioned glass backing being it’s rather fetching main feature, with the unique colour effects on the phone achieved via UV embossing beneath the glass.
In terms of specs, the international version of the smartphone will be identical to the Oppo R1C with the exception of being able to support GSM networks.
Powering the device is 1.5GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and it also comes with 16GB of storage. Like the OPPO N3, there’s a secondary SIM slot which also doubles up as a microSD if needed. It will also have a 13 megapixel Sony IMX214 main camera with assisted flash, with a 5 megapixel front shooter. The R1x will also feature a larger 2,420mAh battery.
The smartphone should be arriving at international markets mid-to late April this year and will be available in Sapphire blue and Ice white, though there hasn’t been any real indicator of pricing just yet.
