Due to delays involving the supply line for display panels, Apple is pushing back the manufacturing of it’s “iPad Pro” 12.9 inch device to sometime in September, according to Bloomberg.
Rumours about a 12.9 inch iPad have been around for months, though Apple has never confirmed plans for such a tablet, though it could potentially boost iPad sales which have been on a downward trend. The new iPad is expected to be sporting newer hardware and performance oriented improvements like improved multi-tasking to name a few.
The larger iPad is part of Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook’s effort to bring some new life to the iPad line, which he feels sales is being affected by competition from larger iPhones which had delivered record profit last quarter.
If Apple sticks to it’s established cycle of announcing new iPad hardware there is a chance the tablet could make an official appearance sometime in October or the weeks to follow, assuming Apple can nix the supply issue.
