Seems Alcatel does have some interesting tricks up it’s sleeves this MWC after all, though it’s a bit of a strange one.

The Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3 smartphones are the only ones in the market which are fully reversible; meaning you can pick up the phone and talk with the top side down thanks to a symmetrical design. We’re not entirely sure why they thought people would find being able to answer the phone from any angle appealing but at the very least the specs for both their phones are decent, even if the naming convention is a little confusing.

The larger of the two, the OneTouch IDOL 3 (5.5 inch) has a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS panel for a display, with a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chip mated to 2GB RAM under the hood, joined by a choice of 16GB or 32GB internal storage. The rear camera is looking pretty good as well, with 13 megapixels and a f/2.0 lens and a 8 megapixel wide angle front unit for selfies. Alcatel also managed to squeeze in a 2,910mAh battery into a 7.7mm body, which is no mean feat. It also features a pair of front facing speakers as well.

As for the smaller OneTouch IDOL 3 (4.7 inch) it features more budget internals for the sake of making it more affordable.  It features a 4.7 inch 720p display, 64-bit Snapdragon 410 octa-core processor, 5 megapixel selfie camera and a 2000mAH battery, but shares the rest of it’s components with it’s bigger brother.

The OneTouch IDOL 3 (5.5) will retail for €250 (RM 1018) while the 4.7 inch model will be going for €200 (RM 814).
