As we get closer to HTC’s new flagship launch, the HTC One M9 has finally leaked in a hands-on video. Now we can confirm that the speculation of a different design isn’t true and it matches the alleged official press photos that we’ve seen earlier.
The main noticeable difference is on the sides, where it gets a dual-tone metal frame and the power button is now moved to the right below the individual up and down volume buttons. Meanwhile, the back retains a similar brushed metal look but it gets a single 20MP main camera instead of a duo camera set up on the One M8. The dual-tone LED flash has been retained as well. For selfies, the same old 4MP Ultra-Pixel that debut on the One M7 has been moved to the front.
From its earlier leaked specs, the HTC One M9 will retain the same 5.0″ Full HD display but underneath it will runs on the latest Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. On-board it gets 32GB of storage and there’s also a microSD slot which accept cards up to 128GB. In the battery department, the One M9 is said to get a larger 2,900mAh capacity battery, which is 300mAh more than the previous One M8 but it gets a slightly thicker dimensions of 9.61mm.
Overall, the One M9 doesn’t seems to be a radical all-new model but a mere update, like an iPhone 4S is to the iPhone 4. If you’re using a HTC One M8, are you enticed to upgrade to a device that looks identical from the front? Anyway, HTC will be announcing the One M9 tonight and it looks like there’s no surprises left.
